Our Story

Shortly after taking the position with CFL, the importance of being centrally located within my territory became necessary and my wife and I began searching for a location that would serve us the best. After looking at many other communities, DeKalb and Devonaire Farms had the most to offer our family. DeKalb has all the amenities of a big town with a small town atmosphere perfect for raising our two boys. In July of 2006, we moved from the City of Chicago to our newly constructed home and have been happy since.

Why Run for Alderman?

The idea of running for Alderman first presented in March of 2008 when I watched my first City Council meeting on Channel 14. That thought came to fruition in July of 2008 when the collective voices of this community, Ward 6, fell silent as we were not represented in selecting the Acting Mayor of DeKalb. Over the last few months, I have seen actions by council memebers that say in one breath, no to taxes then in the next breath they increase spending. We have to live within our means and budget and that will be my major way to vote. I have attended many City Council Meetings, more so than any of the candidates running in this election, and I see the need for change.

My Vision for our 6th Ward?

This community needs more proactive attempts toward Government. We need to know what is going on in the City Council and how these actions and issues affect our ward. The residents of our 6th ward should have the opportunity to gather with their

Alderman and discuss issues relevant to our ward and our City.

Regular monthly meetings will allow the voices of the people to be heard.

What do I believe is the best for DeKalb?

The residents of DeKalb would benefit from a controlled increase in economic development - we should not have to drive outside of our city for any needs.

Also, we need to be introduced to the gems that we do have in this city.

To fill the gaps, we should solicit businesses to locate here or encourage

one of our local business to expand to meet that need.
